OKC Breweries

Posted: 4/23/18

It's hard to keep up with the ever-expanding list of local breweries serving up liquid gold in this town. Whittling down a few favorites seems like being forced to pick a favorite child or choose between tacos and pizza. What I love about the brewery scene in OKC is how different they all are. Depending on the mood, time of day, sunshine or twisters, there's a joint for everyone and there's also a cool way to visit all of them. There's a few more coming this year that I'm stoked about (Vanessa House, Angry Scotsman, Elk Valley). Oh, and bring on those new liquor laws! But here's my favorites now.

Twisted Spike Brewing Co.

Twisted Spike

1 NW 10th Street, OKC, OK 73103 | 405-297-9961

This place has exploded from nothing. Their unassuming location and small batch offerings make it one of my favorite hangouts in town. Simple concept, with some big flavors. I love their IPA and Twisted Stache Milk Stout.  website

Prairie Artisan Ales OKC

Prairie Artisan Ales

3 NE 8th Street, OKC OK 73104 | 405-602-0894

What can you say that hasn't been said? Oklahoma's most famous and popular beer served up in this awesome new location. This place has a nice, laid-back vibe. Every iteration of the Bomb! is simply fantastic. I'd go every day for the Cinnamon Pecan Bomb (when they have it).  website

Stonecloud Brewing Company

Stone Cloud Brewing

1012 NW 1st Street, Suite 101, OKC, OK 73106 | 405-602-3966

One of the coolest taprooms in town, Stone Cloud is another powerhouse brewery serving up their tasty Turtlehead Imperial Stout and frequently hosting Maples BBQ. This place simply kills it in the summer.  website

Anthem Brewing Company

Anthem Brewing Company

908 SW 4th Street, OKC, OK 73109 | 405-604-0446

Anthem feels just like a classic working brewery. Sippings beers and sniffing hops. Can't do much better than that. Hard to pick a favorite here. I'm ridiculously partial to the Golden One and IPA. And the Uroboros Stout is my favorite stout in town.  website
