Get Rewarded For Eating, Shopping and Playing Local

My Patio Addiction

Posted: 1/22/18

I'm not going to lie - to whittle down to only SEVEN all-time favorite patios was an exercise in torture/futility. Thanks to several years of exponential patio growth here in OKC, there were no shortage of options! In fact, I contemplated breaking it down to create separate lists... Restaurant/Bar/Rooftop/Biergarten/Hidden Gem/Dog Friendly/well, you get the point. Sticking to the original concept though, here are my Top 7 Patio Picks. (Honorable Mentions include: newcomer Halls Pizza and old timer but new time patio enthusiast, Stella)

Bedlam Bar-B-Q

Bedlam BBQ

610 NE 50th StreetOklahoma City, OK 73105 | 405-528-7427

I hesitate to share this most prized patio with the larger public. A personal favorite, this tiered outdoor wonderland is one of the best in the city (plus yummy BBQ to boot!). There are huge trees to provide shade, a large outdoor fireplace, and lots of picnic tables to accommodate large groups and families.  website

Pizzeria Gusto

Pizzeria Gusto

2415 N Walker Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73103 | 405-437-4992

As you can tell from most of this list, I'm a sucker for good ambiance. This patio is small and somewhat hidden, but for those who venture out back, the reward is a little magical oasis in the middle of the city. Give ma a glass of wine and the risotto balls, and I'm one happy camper at the Gusto patio.  website

Packard's New American Kitchen

Packard's New American Kitchen

201 NW 10th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73103 | 405-605-3771

Packard's deserves a spot on the list for the view alone. Overlooking downtown and the city skyline, this rooftop space is great for lounging after a long week. Lots of comfy couches and wine on tap, what more do you need to kick off your weekend?

The Pump Bar

The Pump Bar

2425 N Walker Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73103 | 405-702-8898

It's hard to have a list of favorite outdoor spaces and NOT include this Uptown favorite. The Pump has demonstrated that living the patio good life year round is possible even in Oklahoma. Complete with a monster fire pit for the winter and yard games for the summer, our friends at The Pump have you covered year round.  website

The Patriarch - Craft Beer House and Lawn

The Patriarch

9 E Edwards Street, Edmond, OK 73034 | 405-285-6670

I may catch flack for this "northern" selection, but it's hard to ignore the greatness of the Patriarch patio in Edmond. Communal tables, live music, 48 taps, and twinkle lights complete the perfect backyard to this historic home built in 1903. Now if we can just get the owners to renovate a historical home in OKC for Patriarch South!  website

Barrios Fine Mexican Dishes

Barrios Fine Mexican Dishes

1000 N Hudson Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73102 | 405-702-6922

The newest of the bunch, but what an entrance! Styled to perfection, pull a seat up near the fireplace while sipping your Frozen Avocado Margarita, or grab a table for a delicious meal. Overhead heaters and cozy blankets are also available during cooler months, making it a year-round go-to for the patio lover.

Power House

Powerhouse

1228 SW 2nd Street
OKC, OK 73108
405-702-0699

This place just keeps getting better and better as the Powerhouse crew have stepped up their patio game each and every season. The space is rustic with a southwest feel, dried chili peppers hanging from the awnings. Sometimes if you squint your eyes to blur out the Devon Tower just a bit, you can even imagine yourself sipping a cocktail somewhere in Santa Fe. Check out "Power Hour" during weeknights, weekend scratch brunch, and live music options weekly as well.  website
