01. What did you want to be when you were a kid?
An artist.

02. What was your first job?
Working at a burger place in Dallas called TigerBulls.

03. What do you like to do in your free time?
Drink coffee, read a good book, hang out with good friends, and draw.

04. What's the best advice you've ever received?
Don't take life too seriously.

05. How long have you been in business and how did you get started?
We will be celebrating our 2 year anniversary in August!
When I first moved to OKC, I started a traveling craft market with my friend, Nora Ivy, called Housewares. We did that for about 9 months and it was pretty successful. The store was born out of that same concept of providing local artists a place to promote and sell their work.

06. Why do you choose to operate your business in Oklahoma as opposed to somewhere else?
I am in LOVE with Oklahoma. I am not from here and have been blessed to live in some amazing cities. I love those experiences, but nothing compares to Oklahoma. The people are the kindest in the world. I feel so lucky to be a  part of a business community that encourages and promotes one another instead of competing. I will probably live here forever.

07. Why do you think its important to keep it local?
It is the local, unique businesses that makes any city stand out. If we were a city of big box stores, what would be the appeal of coming here to visit or live. It is local businesses that feed our community. Local is essential to OKC!

08. What locally owned business (other than your own) could you not live without?
So many: DNA Galleries, Cuppies and Joe, Coffeeslingers, Birdie, Wild Hare Beadery, Blue 7, Tokyo Sushi, SHOPGOOD, Tree and Leaf Clothing, The SPY, Forward Foods, Cafe Evoke, Iguana, Big Truck Tacos, and Shoe Gypsy.

09. Our Facebook fans want to know: What is it that sets you apart from the national chains and promotes loyal, repeat customers?
Everything in the store is handmade or hand-altered somehow! About 50% of what we sell is made locally and we are passionate about showing off how talented Oklahomans are!

10. Our Twitter followers want to know: What drives you to keep doing what you do?
We feel like in a very small way, we are bringing change to Oklahoma City. I love it when people come in and are inspired by the feeling of the store. That always gives me that little extra boost.
