Norman, OK 73069
Tamashii’s Norman location brings their slow-simmered, deeply flavorful ramen to downtown Norman, just a couple miles from the University of Oklahoma and walkable to surrounding shops and restaurants. It carries that come-as-you-are energy you want in a college town - lively, welcoming, and just the right amount of buzz.
Broths here are simmered for 10 hours before they ever hit your table, and it shows. The Tonkotsu Ramen is the go-to for first-timers, with a rich, creamy pork bone broth and tender, melt-in-your-mouth chashu (braised pork belly). There are about nine ramen options currently on the menu, plus starters like crispy takoyaki (crispy octopus dumplings) and hand-rolled gyoza that are easy to share.
Beyond ramen, the garlic fried rice lands on your table still sizzling with butter, egg, and garlic, and the chasudon layers braised pork over rice with a sweet-savory glaze and truffle mayo. Wrap it up with mochi for something cold and sweet.
The atmosphere here is fun with TVs playing anime, adding a colorful backdrop while you eat. There’s also a small shop area right inside the front door where you can browse Japanese snacks, drinks, and Pokémon or anime merch - an extra detail that makes this location feel a little more like an experience than just a meal.
