Oklahoma City, OK 73107
At Trapper's Fishcamp & Grill, dinner comes with a bit of a change of scenery. Set in the Reno/Meridian corridor not far from the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds, this longtime local spot trades the usual restaurant feel for something closer to a backwoods fishing lodge - starting with a 12-foot Kodiak bear at the entrance and a dining room filled with mounted game and hanging canoes.
The menu is heavily Cajun-inspired seafood, but the standout here is the prime rib. It’s slow-roasted for hours until tender, then served with house au jus and a creamy horseradish sauce that regulars don’t skip. Beyond that, you’ll find mesquite-grilled steaks, blackened specialties, and seafood prepared just about every way - fried, grilled, or piled into combination platters. If you’re in the mood to try something different, options like crawdad tails and alligator sit alongside more familiar picks like catfish, shrimp, and salmon.
