What is Keep It Local OK? Keep It Local OK, based in Oklahoma City, focuses solely on promoting the locally owned and operated businesses that make Oklahoma great. We work alongside you to educate consumers about the many benefits of spending money locally as well as provide the means and incentive for them to do so with the introduction of the Keep It Local OK Rewards Card. The consumer will purchase and use their Rewards Card at any participating Oklahoma business to receive exclusive offers and discounts for the entire year in which the card is valid.
How do we define locally owned and independent?
“Locally owned” means the Business is privately held and the owner or the majority of the owners are Oklahoma residents. This includes employee- and cooperatively owned businesses, as well as nonprofits, but not government units. The Business must be registered in the state of Oklahoma with no corporate headquarters outside of the state.
“Independent” means the owner or owners have full decision-making authority over the Business, and that the majority of Business outlets are located in Oklahoma. The business pays all of its own rent, marketing expenses, and other expenses (without assistance from a corporate headquarters or national cooperative program).
