What is Keep It Local OK?
Our mission is pretty simple: To help people discover the best local spots in town! With a Keep It Local card, cardholders enjoy incentives for keepin' it local and get the satisfaction of supporting a favorite business or discovering a new favorite. And business owners get what they want most - happy, loyal customers who are likely to spread the word about their experiences. That's what we like to call a WIN-WIN!
Where can I get a Keep It Local Card?
Do Keep It Local Cards expire?
Yes - Keep It Local Cards can be used as often as you like beginning on Black Friday of the previous year and expiring on December 31st of the year on the card (ex - 2016 cards are good from Black Friday 2015 through December 31st 2016). Every new year we release a brand new card with a new original design for you to replace your current card.
Is there an app for that?
I don't see my favorite local business on your site. Where is it?
That's where we rely on you, yes...YOU. We're constantly working with local businesses to add new and exciting rewards for Keep It Local OK cardholders to enjoy. If you'd like to lend a helping hand, simply ask that location (very nicely, of course) to contact us.
How can my local business become a Keep It Local OK member?
That's an easy one. Check out Join Keep It Local OK to learn more.
Do I have to wait until January for my local business to join Keep It Local OK?
You can join Keep It Local OK anytime! Once you join, your membership is good for 12-months regardless of when you sign up during the year.
Will you donate something to our event?
Short answer: Maybe. Giving back is what we're all about. Email us and we'll be in touch.
I've never heard of Keep It Local OK before. How long have you been doing this?
We launched Keep It Local OK in Oklahoma City in 2010 with nothing more than a love for the great state of Oklahoma and its unique local businesses. We believe that together, with other like-minded people, we can help build a better local community.
Are you a non-profit organization?
Well...not exactly. We prefer the term, "not-only-for-profit." Legally, we are not a tax-exempt 501(c) non-profit organization but we do filter the majority of our resources back into the Keep It Local OK brand in order to promote local businesses and accomplish our mission. We are a small, grassroots operation with no affilliation to any outside investors or parent companies.
What should I do if I get sprayed by a skunk?
Ahhh...good question. If you experience the misfortune of being sprayed by a skunk, follow the below recipe developed by chemists to neutralize the animal's putrid odor: Mix one quart of fresh hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup of baking soda and one teaspoon of liquid soap and wash with the mixture while it's still bubbling. Next time GET AWAY from the skunk before it has the chance to spray you.
I tried to use my Keep It Local Card but the employee wouldn't accept it. What should I do?
This doesn't happen very often, but occasionally you might run across an employee who has not yet learned the ways of the Keep It Local Card. If that's the case, simply ask to speak with a manager who is familiar with Keep It Local OK and they should be able straighten things out. If that doesn't work, feel free to contact us directly and we'll try to get to the bottom of it.
This page was a complete waste of time. Can I please ask the question that I really want to ask now?!?
Email us and we'll respond promptly or, worst-case-scenario, our response will be fashionably late.
